Role Overview

Disability Support Workers deliver personalized physical and emotional support, assisting with tasks like showering, dressing, mobility, and medication management.


They also help clients participate in social and recreational activities, encouraging independence and choice. We follow a person-centred approach, supporting clients’ rights to live fully and inclusively while adhering to all relevant standards and policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care (e.g., showering, dressing, eating) and mobility.
  • Facilitate and participate in outings, community engagement, and social activities based on individual care plans.
  • Encourage and promote the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of clients through personalized activities and support.
  • Administer self-medication assistance and support with medical appointments when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation of care provided.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery and provide feedback to management.
  • Adhere to Community Bee mission, values, and code of conduct in both professional and community interactions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and other stakeholders to ensure quality service provision.

  • Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks, including assisting clients with mobility and personal care.

  • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to a collaborative work environment.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to contribute to the improvement of services and operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative requirements, including the NDIS Code of Conduct and disability standards.
