Cooking Frenzy is designed to help people build life skills, independence, and confidence, all while having fun and sharing great food.

Cooking Frenzy is a fun and engaging cooking class designed for people who want to build independence in the kitchen. Participants learn practical cooking skills, food safety, meal planning, and how to prepare simple, healthy meals.
The program focuses on developing confidence, life skills, and independence while creating a social and supportive environment. Participants will have the opportunity to try new foods, learn budgeting skills for groceries, and gain the confidence to cook meals for themselves and others.
Each week we cook lunch and a dessert together, giving participants hands-on experience in the kitchen while they enjoy the meal they created.
Participants start the program with their support worker, completing online food safety training and hand-washing skills before beginning practical cooking sessions in the kitchen.
Cooking Frenzy encourages creativity, teamwork, and independence while making cooking enjoyable and accessible for everyone.
Program Overview
• Initial risk assessment and program planning to align with participant goals and determine appropriate supports
• Online food safety training completed with support from a support worker
• Hygiene and hand-washing training before entering the kitchen
• Kitchen orientation and safety, including safe use of equipment
• Cooking skill development, preparing simple meals step-by-step
• Meal planning and grocery skills, including budgeting and healthy food choices
• Progress reviews to track skill development and adjust supports where needed
Each week participants work together to prepare lunch and dessert, building confidence and practical cooking skills in a supportive environment.

Create & Connect is a structured, small-group activity designed to support participants in building practical skills, confidence, and social connections through creative projects. Using accessible technology such as smartphones, and ditital cameras participants will engage in guided sessions that explore areas like macro photography, light box setups, and food photography.
Each week introduces a different project, allowing participants to develop new skills while working at their own pace in a supportive environment. The session encourages communication, collaboration, and independence, while also providing opportunities to express creativity and try new techniques.

The Community Hive is all about getting back to basics—learning how to make your own everyday household essentials in a simple, affordable way.
We run hands-on DIY sessions where you’ll learn how to make and take home essential items for around the house, including DIY natural laundry powder, dishwasher powder, laundry liquid, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, moisturiser, deodorant, and more.
Everything we make is low-cost, practical, and easy to recreate at home.
You can choose to take your products home or donate them to the Community Bee shopfront, where they will be sold to raise funds towards disability housing projects.
This is about building confidence, learning real-life skills, and creating opportunities—while being part of something that gives back to the community.

This group is built to get you out of the house and back into the buzz of the community. Engaging in familiar activities like fishing and memory games is a massive win for your mental wellbeing, helping to keep the mind sharp and the senses firing. Our group tea and chats create a solid space to build real friendships and smash the feeling of being isolated.

Move It! Light builds your physical capacity and independence through gentle mobility, while Move It!
Dance boosts your coordination and confidence. Both sessions offer a massive social buzz, helping you connect with the community and beat isolation in a 100% inclusive, wheelchair-friendly environment. These activities align with funding for Increased Social and Community Participation and Improved Health and Wellbeing.
Engage in guided craft activities using a range of materials and techniques, working on individual and group projects, including larger pieces developed over time for entry into local craft competitions, all within a supportive hive-style environment that encourages creativity and a positive buzz
The group setting promotes interaction, shared learning, and teamwork, while supporting communication, social skills, and practical abilities. This activity builds capacity by supporting social and community participation, developing creative and practical skills, building confidence, and encouraging greater independence over time with support from trained staff as needed.
The Cafe Buzz is a fantastic way to meet NDIS goals for social and community participation. Getting out into different environments builds confidence, encourages independence, and provides vital sensory stimulation. Regular social chats help smash isolation and build a real sense of belonging within the community.
